Personal Insurance
Auto insurance that fits Portland drivers.
Whether you commute across the city, drive for work, or just need reliable coverage, we compare options from multiple carriers so you get solid protection without overpaying.
Why An Independent Agent
Big national companies sell their own product. We shop the market.
We check prices at Liberty Mutual, Progressive and other carriers, not just one. Bundle your auto with your home or renters insurance and you often save more. You talk directly to Lisa and Keith. They know Portland roads and usually answer the same day.

In Detail
The parts worth understanding
Oregon needs every driver to carry at least 25/50/20 liability, $25,000 bodily injury per person, $50,000 per accident, and $20,000 property damage, plus $15,000 of Personal Injury Protection and uninsured motorist coverage matching your bodily injury limits.
Those are legal minimums, not recommendations. Modern vehicle repair and medical costs regularly go past them in a single accident, and anything above the limit becomes your personal responsibility.
For most Portland-area households, we suggest starting here and adjusting from your actual situation:
- Liability at 100/300/100 as a realistic baseline
- Uninsured and underinsured motorist matched to your liability limits
- Comprehensive and collision if the vehicle has real value
- A low or waived glass deductible. Oregon gravel earns its keep
- An umbrella policy if you own a home or have teenage drivers
If you drive for Uber, Lyft, DoorDash, Instacart or similar, a standard personal auto policy generally will not cover you while the app is on. Most carriers exclude it explicitly.
Some carriers offer a rideshare endorsement; others need a commercial policy. Tell us what you actually do with the car, an uncovered claim here is one of the most expensive surprises in personal insurance.
An SR-22 is not insurance. It is a certificate your carrier files with the state confirming you carry the required liability coverage, generally required after a serious violation or a lapse in coverage.
We handle these regularly, including for drivers other agencies have turned away, and can usually get coverage bound the same day.

Local Knowledge
Built for Portland roads.
Portland drivers deal with wet roads most of the year, gravel that chips windshields, and heavy traffic on I-5, I-84 and the bridges. We know these roads. We build your coverage around them instead of handing you a generic national plan.
Bundle & save. Many clients pay less by bundling auto with home, renters or condo insurance. Ask about multi-policy discounts when you get your quote. We will also price everything separately, just in case splitting up wins instead.
Lisa and Keith answer the phone here. No call center, no robots. Just North Portland neighbors helping neighbors.

Questions
Auto insurance questions
What is the minimum auto insurance required in Oregon?
Oregon needs 25/50/20 liability coverage, plus $15,000 Personal Injury Protection and uninsured motorist coverage matching your bodily injury limits.
Do you offer SR-22 filings?
Yes. We file SR-22s regularly and can usually arrange coverage the same day.
Am I covered when driving for a rideshare or delivery app?
Generally not under a standard personal policy. It usually needs a rideshare endorsement or a commercial policy. Tell us and we will place it correctly.
Does my policy cover a rental car?
Liability usually follows you, and comprehensive and collision often extend to rentals if you carry them. Check with us before declining the counter coverage.
How can I lower my auto premium?
Raising the deductible, bundling, paid-in-full and paperless discounts, low-mileage or telematics programs, and simply re-shopping the carrier. We will run the options with you.
